I’m so lucky to live in the Philippine Islands. I don’t have to go far to see the beauty of the world and what it has to offer.
I live and grew up in the city and I often look at the posters of the nature on our wall and always imagine how is it to live in a province. I close my eyes and dream of walking into the forest and discovered a stream of fresh and crystal clear water. The thought is so relaxing that it becomes a hobby of mine.
A dream becomes a goal. I want to go places and I want to see the world. I want to spend time with the nature, away from the noise of the city. I want to wake up not hurrying into anything but just taking my time.
Apart from nature I want to see how people live in different parts of the world. Books don’t suffice my hunger in knowing about other people’s culture, how they live, what they speak, what they eat and how beautiful the places they live in. It’s not enough that I know, I want to feel it and to experience it firsthand.
Philippines is rich in history, surrounded by seas, has 7, 107 islands and speaks 171 native languages with dialects under them. Whew! No wonder many Filipinos are linguistics and can easily learn other languages from another country. Maybe we are born linguistic.
Although Philippines has more than 7, 000 islands only 2, 000 are inhabited and I don’t have any plans to jump on each islands. I only aim to visit the tourist destinations of the country from Luzon to Visayas up to Mindanao.
So far, I only been to Luzon (because here is where I live) and Visayas (where my parents came from). I hope to visit Mindanao soon.
That’s it for now. Join me as I explore Philippine Islands. Feel free to suggest places to visit and to share your experience.
