Booking for Baguio Accommodation

Hey guys! On the first week of August, I’ll be in Baguio City. I’ve been to Baguio several times, to live, to work and to just have fun!

This time, I’ll fix some documents and have my pre-birthday celebration over there. But, first things first, I need to book for accommodation. I know a transient house but I am looking for a different place this time. I will be staying for 1night. Since I have a limited budget, I need to find something cheap but doesn’t look and feel cheap.

I usually book my accommodation in Agoda because it is easy and legitimate.

For me, it is a must that you book your accommodation in advance for these reasons.

  1. It saves you time. If you are staying in the place for a day or two, you don’t want to spend your time searching for accommodations. We have the internet nowadays, take advantage of it.
  2. It helps you with budgeting. If you are traveling on a budget like I do, you want to make sure that you still have money to go home. If you have booked your accommodation in advance then you only need a budget for food and for your fare. Ooops, for pasalubong as well and souvenirs.
  3. It gives you peace of mind. After a long journey, you want a place to rest and gives you comfort. It is not a good way to start your first day knowing that your favorite accommodation is fully booked.
  4. It helps you choose what fits your needs. Online booking gives you several choices. With Agoda, you will be presented with the list of transient homes, inns, and hotels. Image, amenities, and price are shown in the search results that can help you decide quickly. If you want to know more, you can click on the accommodation of your choice and you can read the reviews from the people who have been there.

Comment below if you want me to write a tutorial on how to book at Agoda and I’ll do it for you. For now, I’ll continue hunting and keep you updated.

If you want to visit Baguio for the first time, you can join tours to save yourself from the hassle.

P.S.

As mentioned, this is not my first time so I will not be visiting the usual tourist destinations like Mines View, The Mansion and others, so if you know something that I can do differently or a place to visit, write it in a comment section and it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for hanging around!

  1. I’ve always found the “booking in advance vs finding something when you arrive” debate about accommodations interesting. There have been times that I’ve wanted to TRY to be spontaneous, but we end up booking accommodation in advance most of the time like you do. Much less headache that way!

  2. Great suggestions! I’ve never tried Agoda but I’ll give it a shot. I agree about booking accommodations in advance. You never want to be stuck somewhere without a place to lay your head!

  3. I’ll be honest, I had to google where Baguio City was first! I love using websites that allow me to quickly and adequately plan a trip. Travel should be a seamless process and not a stressor!

  5. I’m a yes and no with this to be honest. Sometimes I like to be spontaneous and see what I can find, and other places I like to book ahead. It would be nice to know what you ended up booking on this trip!

  6. This is a very useful article on booking accommodation in Baguio and anywhere in the world! I find that booking in advance works best and I prefer it to not booking in advance. I’ve tried not booking and looking for somewhere upon arrival and it’s a lot more hassle and not cheaper.

  7. I’m a big fan of booking in advance. It’s the organiser in me – and I can’t deal with the stress of potentially having to find somewhere on arrival. I’m also a fan of Agoda too for destinations in Asia, but use Booking.com and Hotels Combined for the USA, Europe and Australia.

  8. Booking can be such a hassle. It’s nice when you find a system that you like and trust. I’ve never been one to book too early in advance. Preferring to wing it on the road.

  9. I know Agoda is pretty big in Asia. I haven’t personally booked it through the platform but I will definitely look into it! It seems like an easy way to book accommodations!
